April 20, 2024 - Tasted after a 45 minute decant. Deep ruby in colour with a major garnet hue & restrained aromas of oak & earth. Flavour has faded since the previous bottle, but still charming cherry, rustic oak & earth with medium acidity, medium soft tannins & a long finish to sour cherry, leather & spice.
Last bottle & probably kept it one year too long. But this has been an excellent run & I would be happy to try anything from this winery! -

January 22, 2023 - Tasted after a one hour decant.
Medium ruby in colour with a slight garnet rim. Aromas of sweet black fruit, slightly gamey earth & slightly herbal with a hint of oak.
On the palate, medium bodied tart & savoury black fruit, red/black cherry, blackberry, leather, slightly floral/dried flowers, well integrated oak, high acidity, medium soft tannins with a long finish to sour cherry, black pepper & smoke.
Pretty classic Tuscan Sangiovese that really doesn’t seem 13 years old. Excellent flavour & lots of life left!
