    December 16, 2023 - Decanted far too late which was unfortunate. Glass for glass the wine got better and tastier. I thought it was fairly far along so I‘m not sure there is an upside to keeping this. Not that it will fall off soon, I‘m just not sure that it will improve much.

    August 25, 2020 - Wow, I may have actually found an early-drinking Scarpa (tic). Yes, it's showing some of the vintage's ample warmth. That said, this red-fruited, juicy wine has just enough of a sense of place and grape to satisfy this mid-week meal. Now or the next several years. recommended

    January 19, 2019 - Tasted alongside the 2005. Good wine, but the warm vintage drives the ripe fruit close to jammy notes. I preferred the 2005.

    September 22, 2017 - Scarpa er den flotte Piemonte-produsenten som kanskje lager noe av de beste vinene på barbera-druen. Men også Nebbiolo fra Barbaresco-området er de ganske så eksperter på.

    Denne vinen har en litt mer moden frukt enn forventet, men er absolutt tiltalende med litt tørkede bær, rosiner, roser og noe kaffebønner.

    Ganske bra konsentrasjon og dybde i frukten, og framstår ganske tung og massiv i frukten enda. Her er alt til stede, men vinen trenger en god del mer tid. Rart at det er såpass forskjellig uttrykk på nese og på paletten! Her er det litt generisk rød frukt, en flott krydret tone, samt kaffe og lær. Et godt rustikkpreg i denne vinen, men vinen er absolutt herlig. Jeg digger Scarpa!

    November 15, 2015 - aromas of tar and cherry. Brick orange color. Tannins on the finish, dry, scorched earth, gravel and licorice. Tannins outweigh the fruit, perhaps with time may mellow a bit.
