January 20, 2024 - Took to Paulee lunch and was the star of my table.
consistent with prior notes, and in fact seemed cleaner and purer than last two bottles
    YUM

December 11, 2023 - Another quick check in on this wine, only a couple of weeks after the last bottle. Very similar notes.
Pretty aromatics and perfumed notes on the nose immediately from open.
Light and ethereal on the palate, with pretty red fruits and a hint of cherry.
There’s a mineral undertone to this, giving an extra degree of complexity and intrigue. Moving towards secondary/tertiary flavour profile.
Second bottle where clarity wasn’t 100% what I’d expect from the domaine, lacking the usual cyrstalline purity. This one didn’t last too long so I didn’t check if similar fade to the prior bottle. I’ll keep a close eye on the rest of the case.

November 22, 2023 - This wine has always been a gem within the Duroche portfolio given its location and proximity to Griotte.
Fab aromatics and perfumed notes on the nose immediately from open.
Very light and ethereal on the palate, with pretty red fruits and a hint of cherry.
There’s a mineral undertone to this, which is a delight. Moving towards secondary/tertiary flavour profile.
Faded a little after a couple of hours in the glass.
Clarity wasn’t 100% what I’d expect from the domaine, lacking the usual cyrstalline purity, so I wonder this wasnt a perfect bottle. But it was damn close and certainly I didn’t pick up any fault.

May 5, 2023 - Finally mature, this is drop dead gorgeous! Rose potpourri, oriental spice, cherry, strawberry, orange. Silky texture, with fully dissolved tannins, fine acidity and sweet fruit. Long, complex, and elegant. Drink now - 2025.

Retasted February 2024 with consistent notes.

August 12, 2020 - Dinner and drinks at NVNA. My bottle. Aired in bottle for about 30+ mins, but actually was good to go on pop and pour already. Drank in Sensory glass.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of dark red flowers, violets, red cherries, smudgy earth, hint of smoke and some blood. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol, fine medium tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of elegant red cherries, sweet red cherry plums, hints of smoke and blood. Long finish.
Very good quality. Nice elegantly textured, with some hints of Gevrey character peeking. Feels fairly young. Could age some, but I don't really see this achieving any much more complexity.
So the story here is that Duroche's vines in this lieux-dit are located in that small sliver between Griotte-Chambertin and Charmes-Chambertin.

February 3, 2018 - PoB Wine Dinner with Pierre Duroché (Hong Kong): Red current nose, some forest notes. Discrete, luckily cooler, more regal than the 2009, clearly better. The palate is sappy here, lively acidity, great mouthfeel. Medium complexity on the aromatic side.
