March 8, 2019 - In a perfect place at much better than the 2001 in 2013 (see note). Really very good Cahors indeed.

March 1, 2018 - I found a bottle of this wine at Crus Châtelet in Paris, and it immediately brought back fond memories of the rather fabulous specimen drunk at restaurant Marcus in London in April 2014. It probably was at perfect peak then, but today it seems to have lost some of its shine. It is still a very impressive, broad-shouldered wine, but it feels a bit old-fashioned by now, with its dusty and slightly drying tannins slightly dominating the receding ripe black cherry and berry fruit. It is firm and structured, but the excitement is gone. It will no doubt last a long time, but I don't see an upside from here. Other recent TNs are very laudatory - maybe there is some bottle difference?
