January 29, 2023 - Tried another one because of iffy experience with prior bottle (see 1/27/23 note).

This time the fruit was delicious and much more pure, though still not incredibly defined. Nonetheless this was an excellent bottle of an excellent wine. Suffice it to say there's bottle variation. So while this one could have gone to 2030, I'd still finish these up in the next couple of years.

*see follow up note for second, better bottle two days later

May 15, 2020 - I liked it on opening, but it quickly fell apart. A bit oxidized. I see why this was on sale.

June 22, 2019 - Might be in a dumb phase right now. On opening, oak is a bit disjoint, not enough fruit, not enough tertiary flavors. With 30+ minutes of air it opens up nicely. Be patient. Shows some promise (~90-92) long term so might wait a couple years before opening the next bottle.

February 17, 2019 - This was terrific. Eucalyptus and some stemmy notes on the nose coupled with bright red fruit. a pretty somewhat new world like mouthful - very good fruit - and a long smooth finish. For the price, this is a great bottle i enjoyed very much.

August 8, 2015 - Nice Burg...a little young for me, needs time to develop.

October 24, 2013 - Ruby red towards purple and transparent with a watery rim. Ever so slightly subdued nose with raspberrys and a hint of tar. An abundance of fresh red fruits on the palate, smooth tanninins and a refreshing acidity. A very refreshing wine that promises more to those who can wait!
