January 23, 2015 - Blood orange in color. Slight va on opening which blew off after 30-35 minutes. The bouquet bounced around from watermelon jolly ranchers to crushed granite to fresh tulips; a fun wine to track as it evolved over several hours. On the palate the wine was medium bodied with a plush and consistent watermelon note on the mid palate. Medium + acidity, probably needs another year or two to fully round out.

May 19, 2014 - I haven't seen an orange wine show strawberry-like color until now. Like an even lighter Di Gresy Nebbiolo. Rose with orange flecks. Field strawberry on the nose in fact. Maturing sweet red and yellow fruit aromas. Lightly cider-y. Ripe like cotton candy. Such a faint VA-ishness, it actually works. Med/- tannin, cedar, some cinnamon. Really well put together and not at all awkward on the palate.

NOSE: expressive; faint notes of mint, varnish/expoxy, cigar, and cedar; moderately alcoholic

BODY: hazy tan-amber color --- looks like a natural apple cider; medium-light bodied.

TASTE: slight tannin; lots of umami; medium-high acidity; slightly sour; non-descript mineral aspect; light cigar flavor. Interesting, and I liked it.

March 15, 2014 - Louis/Dressner Tasting with all the Winemakers (E&R, Portland, OR): Fantastic dark orange color. Smells like a burning rubber ball. Incredibly deep and complex. Very compelling. Maybe it also smells like burning Skittles candy, as there's a sweet funky fruit there, too. Very penetrating notes. Thick body and incredible richness, with a wild streak for sure. So deep, with more funky fermenting burning skittles. Tons of acid throughout. A wallop of strawberries on the finish and tons of acid. I love that acidic strawberry flavor. Ridiculous changes and evolution on the finish. Tastes like orange marmalade. Of course not everyone's cup of tea, but boy is it mine. 92-93, leaning to the 93. This is so good because it's so interesting. I wonder if I'd score it lower if I got used to it.
