December 16, 2018 - one of the night's great surprises
this has come together nicely to be a very expressive cabernet with a nice qpr

August 23, 2018 - Coincidentally I opened my first bottle of this wine almost 3 years ago today. Reviewing that brief tasting note after my first glass tonight, I am pleased to share that the wine has developed beautifully. The nose shows rich dark fruit, graphite, and a subtle oak with a slight tinge of alcohol. Dark fruit flavors follow with a nice acidity then a bold, back palate impact and finish. Tannins are present but softer. This has years ahead of it. I will try to manage my remaining 2 bottles accordingly. Posted new photo.

May 28, 2018 - Wow! Big, Howell Mtn. fruit bomb. Deep indigo in color. Blackberry, blueberry, cassis, licorice, bramble and spice on the palate. Huge mouthfeel. Fruit balanced by hearty tannins. This will age nicely for another 10 years but really spectacular today.

January 31, 2018 - A glass of dark wine. The nose is moderate, oak and cassise. The wine, however, is a biggie. Blackberries, blueberry, oak, and a strong structure of tannin and acidics. It's got a lot of fruit, but it also has a lot of backbone, so it has a while to go. Long finish.
