December 14, 2021 - Fruity, blackcurrant nose. Some coconut and other secondary notes. Nothing tertiary. Medium intensity, the palate is fruity, a little tannic and surprisingly young tasting. Some aromas of caramel but bone dry old world claret. I think this needs cheese or some other food. Could probably do with a 30 minute decant also.
It seemed a little sour alongside some old Gouda cheese. Strange.

Very typical, somewhat severe left bank.

February 19, 2019 - Coravin tasting. My first time trying this Wine Society classic, apparently from a famous 1st growth. Perfectly stored at the Wine Society from purchase until a few days ago.
Hmmm, seems corked! Lovely on palate. Rich fruit, young tannic, super dry but the nose shows clear cork taint.
I'll open the full bottle in a few days and confirm. Hard to judge the nose but palate is very promising.

February 17, 2018 - This is not the most impressive vintage of this wine . That said it has softened now a bit and retains good fruit ,plenty of tannin and acidity . Seems very young to me baffled by the advice on the label hat it will be best between 2013-2018

    November 13, 2016 - 3rd or 4th bottle
    Earlier bottles were very tough.
Last bottle at least a year ago.

    This one:
    Nose: appealing blackcurrant. Oak.
Palette: significant fruit. The wall of tannin is beginning now to soften.
Still a very stern, drying tough drink.
But there is now some pleasure. Lets see what 2017 brings to this wine.
