March 10, 2024 - This wine is past its prime but is still delicious. Lots of secondary notes of caramel, butterscotch and peach. It’s viscous.
Color has darkened since last bottle. Acidity has dropped out but this wine is not cloying in any way. This is a 14 year old California Chardonnay made by a master. It’s superb for its age. Will be fun to try the 2007 and 2009 still in my cellar.
June 18, 2017 - Entering the zone. Still bright acidity. Plenty of citrus fruit. Will be outstanding in 3-5 years.
February 15, 2015 - crisp and clean
July 19, 2014 - Clear pale straw color. Lemon peel, violets. High acids, no tannins. Medium finish. Tasting room
June 17, 2014 - Crisp, light. Some malo and light oak. Very nice. Light weight, a restrained style.
May 12, 2014 - Very nice minerality and blending of stone fruit with good acidity. Tropical flavors are present as the wine warms. Nice creamy texture but not buttery or too caramelly.
October 7, 2013 - integrated and delicious;lemon minerals;some apple too
July 13, 2013 - Pale Gold with Stonefruit and tropical nose complimented by butterscotch and vanilla aromas from barrel and a little toast. Delicious pineapple fruit balanced by the great acidity with a nice bas of spiced pear. Vanilla, Spice, and other barrel characters on mid palate with a great return of acidity followed by lemon and apricot. NIce creamy mouthfeel without too much oak.
May 2, 2013 - another solid effort;tart lemon with some balance, but a hold if possible would be helpful to allow more integration
