July 29, 2020 - Dry and savory, not much fruit on opening, but very aromatic. Plum and pencil shavings. Tastes young.

November 23, 2019 - Very good overall. Rich fruit, typical left bank notes, relatively resolved tannins. Needed about an hour of air to reach potential.

April 27, 2019 - Nice nose of red currents, clove, tobacco, green peppper, shaved pencil; just what you would expect from a Medoc wine. Nice concentration of plums and currents. Never going to win a beauty contest, be mistaken for Baywatch Pamela Anderson, but solid wine that is drinking nicely.

August 28, 2016 - Pretty berry floral nose. Rich cherry berry palate, with tobacco, herbs, earth and minerals. Great balance, satisfying finish. Good value at $23.

August 19, 2016 - Opened and let sit for about 30-40 minutes before pouring. Color is deep, rich purple-red with no fade at the edge and almost opaque center. Aromas of blackberry, black cherry, boysenberry and blueberry, herbs or garrigue, eucalyptus, a light touch of mushroom, a bit of dirt. On the palate fruit, ash, acid and finishing with an impression of darker fruit, balanced acid and well-integrated tannin. The wine has medium- to medium body. Drink with smoked steak tips, roasted vegetables and cheese on crusty bread. We both found this quite enjoyable. This wine feels like it has hit its stride.

May 31, 2015 - The finest De Pez I have ever tasted, the 2009, from a great St.-Estephe terroir that has long been under-exploited, is a 25-30-year wine. A blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, it exhibits a dense purple color as well as aromas of crushed rocks, sweet black currants, and earth, and a layered, rich, firmly structured yet impressively deep, fleshy mouthfeel. Cellar it for 5-6 years and enjoy it over the following two decades

March 7, 2015 - Very aromatic with smokey, truffles, slight barnyard, cigar, sandalwood-cedar notes; rich on the palate showing wet soil, black cherry-cassis with high somewhat big rustic tannins. Good version of a classic St. Estephe.
