September 27, 2014 - Lovely black fruit aromas dominate the nose, there's a little rose petal note with time in the glass and a tarry character too. Great balance of sweet black fruit and a savoury bite from the tannins. Quite a luxurious mouthfeel and layers of flavour. Excellent value at £10.
March 12, 2014 - it's the garnacha y syrah I'm writing about...
cloves, wild strawberries, raspberries, earth, freaky blueberry and brambles, plum liqueur, pepper, even dried plum, dust, minerals...energy drink...
there you go:
perfect weather+terroir+proper varietal (grenache)+vieilles vignes= a wonderful wine!
P.S. don't DECANT this wine! Just drink it up!
November 2, 2013 - Another eric solomon gem. IF you like southern Rhone style wine buy this. Barnyard funk laced red rasberries, strawberries and spices. Again if you like this style its the best $10 wine I have had in a long long time
September 13, 2013 - Color was a bright brick red with a pale rim. Spices, earthiness, black olives and hints of sweetness on the nose. A lot of acidity and good amount of tannins. Great QPR.
October 19, 2012 - Tangy fruit, slight natural tannins, chalk, minerality, fairly long finish. Develops well after an hour or so. Old vine fruit taste comes through nicely. Great value, highly recommended.
May 2, 2012 - got lots of brett right after opened . seemed to mellow out a bit after a few hours. decent value but not incredible. lots of red fruit here. raspeberry , sour cherry, tobacco , barnyard, black licorice. good acidity balanced out this wine nicely. more old world style .
April 24, 2012 - Appearance: Clear, medium+ ruby, pale rim.
Nose: clean, medium- intensity, youthful, baked dark fruits.
Palate: Dry, modest acidity, medium+ tannins, low alcohol on palate, medium intensity plum, black fruits, cedar. Moderate finish length.
Good quality. ready to drink but can age short term.
Cork closure. 14% abv. (D 7, F 5.5, Cent., MSW)
