September 14, 2014 - Dark maroon color. Slightly smoky, tobacco and dark berries on the nose. Leathery texture, dried plums, blackberries. Medium body with residual sugar, almost dessert sweet.

June 19, 2013 - Well this is my third bottle of Klinker Brick wines this year, the one noticeable trait of all three bottles is the amount of residual sugar...very surprising, but all three have been excellent quaffers with good balance. This one is high priced at $30. Medium to full bodied, lots of dark cherry fruit, baked cherry pie, sweet finish. My tastes trend toward Bordeaux so subtle sweetness stands out.

April 10, 2013 - Decanted 90 mins. ahead, sampled over the next half hour. Very dark, inky ruby color. Nice nose of coffee, blackberries, and smoke. Rich and deep on the palate as flavors of ripe peaches join iron filings and other black-fruit flavor elements. This wine is not flabby, but the firmness comes more from tannins than from acid. Long finish, with graphite notes ahead of light, mouth-coating velvety tannins. This is a thoroughly good example of Lodi school winemaking. People who have reservations about that style should procure a bottle of this wine, give it enough air, and, as it opens up, open their minds.
