April 16, 2024 - Dark garnet in the glass with a tiny clear meniscus. Ripe blackberry on the nose, touch of bramble and menthol lurking behind, very appealing. A bit more muddled on the palate, low acid, lots of black fruit, some cedar, and a hint of tannins on the finish.

October 26, 2023 - Needed 45 minutes in the glass. Too much Oak during first 30 minutes, but it became more resolved within the hour and not out of balance. Slightly tangy overripe red fruits layered with blackberries. Touches of eucalyptus, green veggies and dried herbs. Smooth tannins.

November 23, 2018 - I liked FM wines at release but with age they seem disjointed and no balance. The alcohol comes through, it’s unfortunate for CDC fruit

January 23, 2017 - Garnet in color with minimal bricking. Red and black currants, dark raspberry on the nose ... still displaying significant acidity. While integrating nicely, its not quite there yet. The tannins are neither soft nor harsh, so I would use the word moderate to describe them. Nice on the front and middle of the palate, approx. 20 second finish on the end palate. If drinking right now, would be vastly improved if eating with a hard cheese or some type of protein. IMHO, this will continue to improve but as of today, I would let it sleep for another 3-4 years.

September 5, 2016 - Polished and balanced, with cassis, plum and cocoa notes. Tannins are firm but not overbearing.
