January 4, 2018 - Pretty austere for an hour or so but finally opens up to reveal some good cherry fruit. I'm still not sure what to make of traditional Brunello...after trying several vintages from this producer and Poggio di Sotto going back to 2000 it seems like they remain tight and brooding until the fruit is completely gone. I haven't had one with a lot of age on it...maybe they become interesting with tertiary flavors much like really old Nebbiolo...but I find myself appreciating the Rossos more both for the value and the relative balance between juicy fruit flavors and strong acidity and tannins.

August 8, 2017 - Pale red fruit, bricked and autumnal in complexion. Has a thick coat of wooly tannins that refine themselves a bit with time in the glass, but remain fairly rugged and drying - benefits from food, unsurprisingly. Classically built and seems to be asking for a lot more time.

June 16, 2016 - Drinking well right now with everything in balance.

January 31, 2016 - Light brownish red. Plum and cherry nose. Good acidity. Light-bodied at this stage.
