October 1, 2022 - Beautiful bouquet with earth and autumn impressions. On the palate red and dark berries, herbs, licorice, beautiful acidity and very tasty. A very elegant and complex wine in a beautiful drinking stage.

February 2, 2019 - 8 hours in decanter. I was excited to open my first bottle of this relative unknown wine. No disappointment: freshness, spicy, with a huge concentration and power. A long, long life.

January 5, 2019 - The (annual) tasting at Loek's anniversary (His tasting room): Tasting note 4,999: totally unknown for me; a fantastic wine, deep coloured, spicy bouquet (but also with compensating acidity), cocoa, creamy, very concentrated (massive) and still showing young. The wine shows its qualities in a classic style; a top level wine.

May 20, 2017 - The Miani red Merlots and Refoscos are among those mythical, super hard to find, wines that everyone knows about but few have tasted. This Buri Merlot from 2009 is certainly not an exception. The first impression is that of a very typical and utterly refined Merlot. There is ballpoint pen, blueberry, stony minerals and a profound elegance. The balance is exquisite and you can feel the meticulous wine making from first sniff. This is as good as it gets, I am thinking. The palate adds a sublime structure and texture to the overall experience. Tannins are a bit sandy but matches the fruit, acidity and oak perfectly. This is a Grand Vin in the making - still a bit too young though. With a 60+ second length on the finish there is little room for complaining tonight. This effort is just a masterpiece. It might be hard to find, but it is certainly well worth seeking out. Enzo Pontoni is a total genius. His whites are good, but this red is just amazing. Wow!

January 3, 2013 - Extremely young of course. I assume, the toasting or the percentage of the wood have been slightly reduced as the wood did not appear as strong as on the 1997 we had the other day. It was very well integrated and polished, like in a Ch. Margaux. The wine has an incredible nose, which is very dense but manages to be very complex as well. Slightly sweet and hot due to high alcohol, but manages to resolve its sheer size over some hours. This is definitely not a wine for now, but if you do not get hold of it now, you never will be able to drink it when mature. The market does not deliver.
