June 5, 2021 - Much better than I recall. Very soft and smooth in the palate. Notes of cassis and leather. Nice long finish. Unfortunately my last one.

October 8, 2016 - This is a very nice wine. Even better the second day. I found the beginning and middle stronger than the finish.
I highly recommend this wine
December 7, 2015 - Fantastic nose, but the palate is still on the young side and the tannins are assertive. If I had more, I'd wait another 2-3 years before I check back in.
May 10, 2014 - Holy cow I love this cab. I love Howell mtn in general but this is a knockout. I had this in napa & haven't had the 09 since sept 13 & it was better than I remembered. Everything a Howell mtn can should be. Awesome.
March 19, 2014 - Howell Mountain Spring Wine Tasting. Nose of black cherry, black currants, and dusty earth, more of the same on the palate, delicious, has improved since the last time tasted, lovely, earthy, dark fruit on the mid palate, big body, long finish. $73 retail and worth it.
November 2, 2013 - Taste of Howell Mountain. Nose of black cherry fruit, earth and tobacco, more of the same on the palate, big body, tasty, but needs 4 years to peak, and a long finish.
September 25, 2013 - Wow this was great. We sat with Jacalyn Spence and it was such an amazing experience. These wine are phenomenal. The 2009 is so young and still a baby but just basking in greatness. Beautiful cherry, blackberry, blueberry, and cigar tones. The finish was amazing and the tannins were outstanding. An amazing wine that everyone must try.
