November 20, 2018 - Excellent - focus and purity. Prominent minerality, moderate tannins. Bright tart cherry flavor predominates. This wine is drinking beautifully right now.

September 16, 2018 - Still young. Overly acidic upon opening, but comes into balance after a couple of hours. Pomegranate, cherry, leather, minerally earth, and garrigue. Enticing nose, satisfying finish. Good QPR at $16.

November 12, 2016 - Consumed from MAGNUM purchased at the winery while staying in San Gimignano. This is lovely, the nose is clean yet offers rustic notes of leather, earth, and red fruits. On the palate Pomegranate dominates leading into tart cranberry, dried meats, and other red fruits. I wish i could have gotten this home. It's really lovely now...but from Magnum I believe it will be at it's best in another 2-4 years. Excellent!!

August 14, 2016 - Not decanted, consumed over ~1 1/2 hours with dinner. Based on the difference between this and our last bottle, this has fleshed out dramatically in the last two years. This is now showing dense but lively concentrated cherry notes and a bit of underbrush or leather, all with plenty of acid and structure. This isn't striking me as elegant right at the moment, but the balance is certainly there for years of future development. Quite good, especially so considering the price.

January 24, 2016 - Not very pleasant as a PnP, this needed all of 90 minutes aeration in decanter to blow off some unpleasant reduction. Afterwards, quite pretty; a real Jekyll & Hyde, as before. Medium-bodied, feminine in style, with plenty of fresh acids to balance out the leathery, cherry-driven fruit. Really good food wine. Drink now, with air, or thru 2021. recommended

    Served non-blind.

December 16, 2015 - Again, a very serviceable bottle of Chianti - this time with sausage simmered in left over osso buco vegetables and broth (a nice combo!). Vibrant acidity did a nice job with the rich broth and the juicy fruit complemented the sausages. A little rough around the edges but good balance overall.
