May 26, 2022 - Can't say I loved this wine. Initial nose is not inviting as whatever has been brewing in the bottle comes forth. That does blow off with time. The wine is a bit overly ripe with Sherry-ish flavors that I don't really like. As it sits longer the wine does settle down and rounds out there is still something of a candied flavor with Sherry traits. Not bad but not something I especially love

April 4, 2020 - First bottle after aging for 5-6?years. Drinking wonderfully now right out of the bottle. Still very fruity (black cherry) and nice but mild peppery finish. A strong value at $50 although post corona who knows where prices go (I am a retired economist). Was great with our PK charcoal burgers and would have stood up to anything mammalian.

November 3, 2018 - A really good QPR wine and already drinking well but no need to rush on this - this has at least another decade left under appropriate cellaring conditions and I do anticipate some further improvement (with a concomitant improvement in the score) with further time, especially with improved balance and integration. Clear black color with no hint of aging / bricking. Intense nose of brambles, dark fruit, spices (lavendar, rose) and a hint of smoke. Good mouth feel, long aftertaste, good backbone and acid and tannins still very much present - as noted above all the flavor elements here but with time will be a smoother more integrated wine as the tannins soften. Palate earthy with dark fruit (plum, black cherry), stone and on the mid-late palate more leather, tobacco abd smoke. Highly recommend - this wine definitely still has upside with further cellaring. Stylistically not purely an old world wine.

January 17, 2018 - Strawberry, vanilla, herbal notes, plum skin. Tasted blind... nailed Grenache, but didn’t seem old world

    April 24, 2017 - Drank over 2 nights - better on night 2.

Dark red color. Earth, black raspberry, dark fruits & glycerin on nose. Similar palate profile. with Full body, medium+ acidity and long finish. 91+ on night 1 and 92+ on night 2 - this should age well.

September 17, 2015 - No change from previous note. Still going strong, and definitely not dumbing down. A sizable wine drinking great now but with another 10 years to go.

September 16, 2015 - Opened but not decanted. This showed no visible signs of age. Baking spices and red fruit on the nose, with red fruits on the palate. Surprised at the aggressive tannins still present, but they were cut nicely by the grilled ribeyes with dinner.
