May 22, 2022 - Cote Rotie Gerin 2010 it's a wine that for me, that I have zero experience with Rhone and its Syrah, was a great first experience. Wonderful nose, fresh and balsamic with herbs (thymes and rosemary) that are balancing dark fruits. The mouth is full bodied and round, but not too much for my taste. Long lovely finish close this great wine. Who brought it was expecting more, but for me it's a full 94.
January 22, 2022 - Similar notes to many others. Just a lovely, traditional Cote Rotie. Punchy nose of fruit fair on the first pour. Palate of red fruit, white pepper, black olive tapenade, cream with a 15-20 second finish. 95+
November 30, 2020 - Fresh, juicy, crisp, ripe and smoky, the fruit is ripe, with good sweetness, energy with a sappy, spicy, peppery kick and a hint of flowers. Still young, with air, this is showing quite nicely.
November 1, 2020 - simply perfect ! wish I had bought more when I visited Gerin
October 23, 2020 - One of the most beautiful Cote Rotie wines I've ever had. The elegance and grace was mesmerizing. It still had all the power and robustness of syrah but with incredible finesse. Wish I had more than one bottle left.
June 8, 2018 - The texture is opulent, silky, lush and refined. There is weight and concentration. Still young, the wine is inky in color, with licorice, smoke, black, blue and red fruit all over the place. Further complicating matters, the wine is loaded with earth, rocks and stones. The finish really hangs in there. Freshness and purity, along with plush textures are the hallmark of this wine.
October 23, 2015 - Very good - dark fruit, smoke, flowers, meat; very Cote Rotie without being top-heavy or burly. Potential to improve; 94+
December 25, 2014 - Naso: pelo animale
Palato: frutti rossi, caffè, addirittura del pompelmo.
Buono, molto buono. forse aperto troppo presto. Forse troppo costoso.
July 5, 2013 - Tasting with Rayas 2007 and Clos des Pape 2010.
Côte-Rôtie Les Grandes Places is great. Very special wine from 100 years old vine.
The Must Buy !!!
April 11, 2013 - Northern Rhone (Decant, Christchurch): Deep purple/ruby. Wow aroma. Rich and very expensive spice/incense. Fantastic. Rich, round, spicy front palate with a hint of corruption/outdoor dunnies. Then pleasing tannins. Long, spicy finish. [Long aging potential, >15 years]
