March 20, 2022 - Decanted an hour before enjoying. Pours ruby with a narrow clear rim and plenty of fine sediment. Med+ intensity nose of sweet tobacco, cherry, cassis, blackberry, cinammon, black minerals, and underwood. On the attack the wine is medium bodied with mineralic, fine tannins, dark fruits (black cherry and black raspberry) and spice. Somewhat austere and steely on the mid with the tannins well-defined and dusty. Tannins soften on the med+ mineral-driven finish but remain mouthcoating. This is an Old World wine lover's wine, very much about the minerality. No Parkerized nonsense here. Drink now to 2029. This is a four-pack buy. Very good 93.
March 10, 2018 - Paired well with our meal. Nice fruit on the nose. Earth, dust, fruit and acidity on the palate with prominence of Cabernet Franc. Finish is a little short and thin.
December 6, 2017 - Tight at first. Opened up to show a touch of tobacco, earth and dark fruit.
June 17, 2017 - Drunk over three hours. First out of the bottle showed rather harsh tannins. Subsequent glasses softened into very enjoyable evening.
The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle.
March 28, 2017 - Drank over 2 days. Better on day-2 suggesting that this can easily go another few years. Restrained fruit with minerality. A food wine. The Cab Franc shined.
December 9, 2016 - lovely right bank offering but must breathe for at least an hour to hit on all cylinders
November 24, 2016 - Nice cocktail wine but could also be used with a meal this was enjoyed with baked breaded porkchops.
May 24, 2016 - Did not budge over 36 hours. Excellent QPR which will be wonderful in 5 years+.
January 6, 2016 - Hint of chocolate, subtle spice and oak on the initial nose, black cherry and plum follow. Soft tannins make an easy drinking wine that is a nice value.
November 29, 2015 - Slightly on the week side. Tannins and acidity not there. Decent black and redberry fruit showing. Drink now.
