December 24, 2020 - Consistent with earlier tasting ... This was dark garnet colored, medium-full bodied, forward expressive black berry fruits, smokey black creosote tones with hints of black licorice and touch of dark cocoa with moderate firm tannins.

May 30, 2012 - Red-black in the glass. Gave 2 hours in decanter. Nose is black and inky with dark fruits, forest twigs and leaves, black licorice hints, soft funk, and minerals. The palate swirls with some sweet ripe black berry, and very subtle cocoa. It also has a slight tight tannin note that could still need time to blow off. Through the finish it loses it's rich velvety nature. Overall, it is a strong and interesting wine, which while missing a bit in elegance and harmony, is enjoyable. Worth revisiting on day two, just to see which way it develops, for better or worse.

Day 2: For better. Tannin edge trailed off some and the entire experience found more synergy and harmony. Still a bit more rough and edgy, but in all the right ways. For the remaining bottles, we'll open much earlier in the day.

May 12, 2012 - This wine is now ready to drink, still has at least 5 years of life, and is quite good.

August 27, 2009 - This wine is finally starting to show it's stuff. Wish I hadn't drank my other bottles too soon. It's drinking very nice now.
