September 7, 2021 - Tannins are definitely still there, and probably always will be, judging by this showing. This was much better than my last experience with the wine. Great aromas and flavors of red-black berries, mint, spice. Drink or hold.

June 11, 2018 - Took to monthly wine dinner. 4 hours of slow-ox was not enough. Remained primarily closed even after an hour in the glass. Mostly mineral and damp earth on the nose with repressed hints of currant, cherry, and mint. Well-structured, but I can't help but feel that it wasn't showing all it had within that narrow window.
Not gonna rate it because I didn't give it the proper opportunity to show what it's got. Give it an honest-to-god decant or hang onto it for a couple more years. -

September 11, 2015 - Deep reddish, almost purple, color. Nose has tobacco leaf, dried fruit with a hint of black fruit. Refined old world subtlety with nice acid balance and velvety mouth feel with a touch of minerality on the finish.

11/1/2012 (link) **** 1/2 points(Manu Propria Ex Animo Cabernet Sauvignon Red Willow Vineyard Yakima Valley) An aromatically subdued but intriguing wine with pink peppercorn, leather, mocha powder, and a fascinating medley of high toned herbal notes – including mint and tarragon – along with dried cherries. The palate is medium bodied, subtle, showing both intensity and restraint with pure flavors of bittersweet chocolate, leather, tobacco leaf and spice with fine-grained tannins and a citrus twist at the finish. Quite a unique wine for Washington – I can’t think of another like it – that leans more toward the Old World than the New but is still also distinctly Washington. A steal at $35. 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot, and 3% Malbec. Aged in French oak (73% new). 14.7% alcohol. Sample provided by winery.
