August 16, 2019 - This bottle is obvious tired comprare to last bottle 4 years ago. Dark purple brown. Aroma: Barnyard, wet earth, thyme,l leather, mint and cherry. Silky tannin and gamy at palate entry. Mid-palate a bit thin, juicy cherry, plum and other dark fruit. Still long finish of mint, tomato, leather. Faded fruit with gentle silky tannin, but not much structure left, might need to drink other bottles soon.

January 29, 2019 - Cork was understandably soft and deteriorated. After clearing that out, the juice within was thankfully fine. Enjoyable, old school claret. Still seems a few years from peaking, but certainly drink up if you are holding these. Tannins not fully resolved yet so still a bit of bite; fruit holding up fine all things considering. Initial mild funk was enticing on the nose, giving way to something more elegant when approaching the hour mark.

September 18, 2018 - Decanted 1 hour. Rich soft leather color w/strong legs. Full pungent oak nose. Full tar & leather flavor w/good finish. Nose continued to be stronger than the flavor. Drink now! After 3 hours wine fullness faded & the oak temperament abated. Wine softened over this period. Appears from my 2016 comment the wine is getting past its prime.

(Chateau Clerc-Milon Pauillac) Mature colour. Hard, sooty, slightly metallic nose. Very dense, intense, and impressive though. Classic aromas. Firm and texture palate, smoky, dense, meaty, concentrated. Plenty of flavour, with ripe tannins and fairly firm acidity to match. Fabulous, bright and lovely. Very long finish. Clearly from a great vintage. Approachable now but will keep for years.
