January 10, 2020 - There are some enthusiastic notes on the 1990 Clerc Milon out there and I regret that mine cannot be one of them. Though this shows a classic redcurrant, cedar, leather, the aromatic volume is turned down and the palate is subdued and faded. Fresh, more intense versions of this could be great but this may simply reflect one data point in the evolution of this wine suggesting a trend towards decline.

December 8, 2019 - Color: purple with hint of brown
Nose: little barnyard and little fruit
Palate: same as nose. Little drying tannins. Wine is on a downhill slope. Best to start finish this up. Better with food.

Update: after days later the wine actually got much better so I am upping the score. The wine was much bettef with bbq

    December 1, 2019 - Paris - Stockholm - Umeå - Tokyo in 6 days; 11/26/2019-12/1/2019 (World): Took a while to wake up.
Because of logistics, (both bottle and crew flew in to Tokyo today) it wasn't possible to aerate before serving.

Blind, I felt that it was a muddled pool, like so many older Graves. At first, I couldn't find anything at all. The Pauillac perfumes I could only notice after having seen the label.

Nevertheless, this is quite a delicious bottle and should be fine for another 20 years or more.

August 16, 2019 - This bottle is obvious tired comprare to last bottle 4 years ago. Dark purple brown. Aroma: Barnyard, wet earth, thyme,l leather, mint and cherry. Silky tannin and gamy at palate entry. Mid-palate a bit thin, juicy cherry, plum and other dark fruit. Still long finish of mint, tomato, leather. Faded fruit with gentle silky tannin, but not much structure left, might need to drink other bottles soon.

(Chateau Clerc-Milon Pauillac) Mature colour. Hard, sooty, slightly metallic nose. Very dense, intense, and impressive though. Classic aromas. Firm and texture palate, smoky, dense, meaty, concentrated. Plenty of flavour, with ripe tannins and fairly firm acidity to match. Fabulous, bright and lovely. Very long finish. Clearly from a great vintage. Approachable now but will keep for years.
