September 26, 2022 - Nicely elegant and open-knit right out of the gate, with a combed woolen texture and fruit that's light in weight but deep in tone - the blackberry here vs. the cherry in the Lignier was a notable contrast. I'm not sure I loved the way it developed in the glass, though, as it started to pick up ashy characteristics.

August 28, 2021 - Red fruit, sweet strawberries, and cherries on the nose. Good acidity and quite tannic on the palate and much less fruit forward than the nose. Red cherries and orange zest comes through, but the palate feels a bit watery and lacking intensity. Finish is too short. Disappointing for a Clos de la Roche.

December 24, 2019 - 2019.12.23 Christmas Eve diner with Corbin
Flight with Volnay Chapmans 2013 Marquis D’Angerville
    Dark, but red edges, color
Nose was bursting with fruit, delightful to experience
Mouth was red fruits, light yet still complex. Not sweet but fruity
Finish was long and lovely fruit
Not as complex in mouth as Volnay, but pure pleasure.

    -med dark red mild clearing
-sweet dark red fruit with some spice
-med acidity, med weight sappy concentration stone and red fruit less complex than the nose, a faintly oak-influenced sweetness accompanies the mildly dried out med tannins
-good but a bit lackluster for a 2010 Clos de la Roche, may need a few years to come into better balance

December 2, 2018 - The wine looks violet colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry and blueberry. It tastes like blackberry and black currant (cassis). The body is light. The wine has fleshy texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity.

Kroppen mangler. Vent tre år med den næste flaske.

October 16, 2016 - - Crimsom color with medium forming legs. It's balanced and has flavours of raspberry and strawberry with a light/medium body. Juicy texture with a medium finish - Wonderful bottle of Pinot. Bright, and loaded with fruit.

October 1, 2015 - Quite primary -- gobs of high-toned ripe pinot fruit -- comes off as more '09 than '10. With time this opened up -- fruit evolved to be very Morey in character, heat blew off, nice acid and balance, fine grained tannins. This needs time but good potential here. Maybe revisit in 2017. First bottle from a case.
