November 8, 2018 - Immediately accessible, primary, softly red fruited, strawberries and stewed plum with spice notes, still quite tannic

    December 10, 2017 - Tasted from Magnum.

Ruby brick color showing its age. Wine opens straight away with variety of aromas that give you no doubts that is old and matured one even if tasted blind. Cooked vegetables, spices, old wet wood. Acidity medium(+), tannins are present and velvety.

Wine is past its prime and doesn't show its 2nd Growth pedigree.

Not a great vintage. Bottle size could help, but not in this case. My observation is that quality of Pichon Baron in late 70s is quite varied.

September 29, 2017 - Double Decanted for 1 hour and wine was drinking superb. Light delicate and just a picture of perfection

August 13, 2017 - Second Sunday Group: 2014 Chassagne-Montrachet (Neil's): Another courtesy of Neil and moreover, a birth year bottle for me. Deep color, much darker than any other '75 I've had. Dried currant and leather aromas dominate. Flavors of black fruit, plum and earth with a medium finish. Perhaps a touch on the riper/plummy side, and the tannins are not as refined as I would like. Still, it's always a treat to try a wine such as this. Thank you, Neil. 88-90 pts.
