March 14, 2019 - Deep, delicious and crunchy with mature Mourvedre flavors of smoky floral things, charred wood and salty black cherry. Savory and a bit rustic and still young and fresh. The finish is succulent with good complex notes of garrigue spices. A very authentic and unique wine.

July 5, 2017 - Deep garnet color that is turning to red. Incredibly warm and earth dominated nose that transports you to the vineyards of Bandol. Powerful palate that is still developing. Rustic, complex and just rounding into greatness. The best Bandol this afternoon - but will be better in time. (94+)

September 4, 2008 - Lovely deep red beginning to brick at rim. A kaleidoscope of red berry fruit, spicy oak and spice on the nose. A touch of kirsch. Spring flowers and exotic perfume emerge with time in the glass. Wow - this is a wine of serious and ever changing, singular complexity. On the palate this is tight, yet rich and giving...celery salt (very much like a good Giacosa) makes an appearance. This is a super wine in need of 10 or more years of aging. Low nineties to mid/high potential. Stunning Bandol. (92++)

January 13, 2008 - Completely closed for business....really showing nothing but impressive texture and weight. Just inexpressive.....Maybe bottle variation? Amazing that this is the same wine that was so expressive a year ago...Still seems balance in terms of tannin, acid and extract.

January 7, 2007 - For me, this is about as good as I can imagine a Bandol getting....Rich, ripe fruit, great delineation of flavors--blackberries, lavender, sage, chocolate, leather, barnyard. Good tannin, but a bit soft on acid, I do question whether this will age as one would anticipate for the wine....not primarily because of anything lacking in the wine, but really because it's so delicious and approachable now.
