December 8, 2016 - Received as gift from someone at some point. Was a bit skeptical, and ultimately opened it as a pizza wine one night because we had nothing but "good" wines. Read a few reviews. What a shock! I've got to find a case. A rich, yet old world nose, with some mocha, blackberry, licorice, and graphite. Full, lush, and fruity on the palate, with more of the blackberry, licorice, and graphite, good acidity, and some finely integrated tannins. Wonderful with pizza. Would love to find a case of this, as it seems to be able to be had for ~$15. Fantastic value.

Satisfying and well made Rhone with enough dense fruit for new world drinkers and enough old world aromas to please CDR regulars.

Full body with just enough juicy acid and round mouth watering tannins. Truly showcases the Syrah/Mouv. Blend.
nose and palate of tangy black cherry, ripe blue and blackberry, zesty garrigue and salty cured meats. French oak aging is noticable and adds rich lactic notes of chocolate, latte and pastry. slight metallic tartness sours the finish but isn't too distracting.

the wine is opulent but not overdone and certainly a steal at $10.
a bit crude in structure but perfect for weeknight drinking or buying by the case.

November 4, 2015 - An easy-drinking, inexpensive weeknight standby. Was fine tonight with rice and black beans.

July 18, 2015 - Nice old world-new world hybrid. Starts off with Mourvedre animale funk, even a bit cheesey in a good way on the nose. But is nicely textured, filled with ripe blueberry and blackberry flavor. A bit of chalky minerality and tobacco as well. Gently tannic with a high delicious factor. Nose opens to more fruit and herbs over time. Drink near term for the fruit, I'd say.

January 2, 2015 - Like the body and flavor from this offering, for the money (abt. $15). 50% Mourvedre, 50% Syrah. Smooth and plum-like flavor. Easy drinking.

November 8, 2014 - Hour decant, the nose was noticeably missing the grenache from the typical Rhone blend, the mourvedre was much more pronounced than the syrah but the palate reflected the syrah in a more direct manner. Reasonable QPR, I will still lean towards getting some G (grenache) and even some C (Cinsault) in the mix for a more complex wine.

October 5, 2014 - Well! This was purchased at the Cave in early summer and tasting it again has taken me right back there with our tasting conducted by the winemaker himself. This red was, in our opinion. the star of the range and tonight's opening confirms that. Fruit driven, wonderful notes of blackberry on nose and mouth, but with well integrated tannins and a nice core acidity. Will be ordering more of this - and their amazing Clairette..........

December 27, 2013 - Dark cherries and dark forest fruits in the bouquet. On the palate a good concentration with dark cherries and some herbs and spices. Not really complex, but certainly an ok wine with a good length.
