May 25, 2019 - 4th Saturday Brown Bagger (Our house): Double blind. Aromas of dark fruit and something odd which we all struggled to identify. I could only describe it as what I think a stale peep must smell like- not a good thing. Much better on the palate though, showing red berry fruit, earth and spice. Another that I struggled to identify- no guess.

May 6, 2019 - Less impressive than my prior tasting in Feb. 2018: more ripe fruit on the palate, without much further gain in complexity. Drink up by 2020.

September 17, 2018 - Earthy, smoky soft and sweet, the fruit is hanging in there, but the secondary notes are equally, of not slightly stronger, so you get a sense of pepper, herbs, olives and herbs de Provence. This is charming to drink today, but it is not a vintage for long-term aging.

February 18, 2018 - More complexity since my purchase in 2013. Has developed nicely, with less overpowering strawberry and more secondary notes.

December 25, 2017 - Remarkably fresh wine, especially for a Chateauneuf.
Nice red fruits, with smoke and chalk minerality and a lot of spice flavours. The liquorice was a bit too dominant as opposed to the fruit. Maybe the wine is in a numb phase and the fruit will emerge once again. At any rate, this wine was slightly disappointing for the reputation of the producer.
