March 24, 2020 - Sour cherries, raspberries, tea leaves on the nose. Medium tannins, slightly tart, but well balanced. Beautiful wine.

March 1, 2020 - I know this is too young, but one have to start tasting sometime. Deep reby verging on dark violet at the brim. Very concentrated colour. A bit muted on the nose, but after a while in the glass tones of dark, sweet berries (blackcurrant, blueberries) emerge underneath a sheet of vanilla and sweet, exotic spices (sorry, I do not manage to be more specific). Medium to full bodied, sweet and rounded tannins (always a good sign), lots of fruit (cherry, blackcurrant) on the mid-palate, then a hefty acidity kicks in in the final part of the tasting curve. Finishes very fresh but still with a solid core of sweet fruit. More like dark cherries that dark berries at the end. A bit uni-dimensional at the moment, will probably flesh out and become more complex aromatically in 3-5 years. A wine that will keep well in the cellar for two decades without problem, and will probably improve over the next decade or so. Very good Bordeaux in the elegant, fresh style.

November 20, 2019 - From Coravin. Medium plus intensity aromas of polished oak, cassis, plenty of sweet spice; nutmeg and clove, black cherry, cream, vanilla, baked plums. In the mouth cream, plums, a little black cherry, chalky grainy tannins, alcohol heat, big but balanced, long. Good but time.

(Chateau Branaire-Ducru (St Julien)) The blend here is 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23.5% Merlot, 4.5% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, the alcohol 13.8% and the pH 3.53. A glossy-looking wine here. Quite vibrant and crunchy fruit on the nose. The palate is quite soft and broad though, and shows some lovely sweet fruit, and it is quite structured beneath, the different elements sitting together quite harmoniously. Good acidity too. Overall it ends up with quite a fresh and juicy feel, but with some nice vigour to it as well. Some appealing fruit complexities here. Good potential.

(Château Branaire-Ducru (St Julien)) Lots of dark fruits here, the oak showing a more nutty tone. The fruit seems well honed from the start through into the middle of the wine, with well polished tannins giving some bite and substance to the wine, nicely matched by the lightly perfumed fruit and appropriate acidity. An attractive wine with all the components nicely put together here, showing very well now, and destined to do really good things in the cellar.
