January 14, 2024 - Interesting nose of baked black cherries, rosemary, sage, white pepper and wood smoke. Medium bodied with silky tannins, eucalyptus, rosemary and black cherry. Drink now. 89

December 28, 2023 - Past its prime but still fun. Thinner like a pinot, strawberry, tootsie roll, higher acid.1 bottle left

October 17, 2023 - Aromas of medicinal herbs/eucalyptus, earth, smoke and culinary herbs like rosemary. The palate is juicy and loaded with red cherry, raspberry and spices. This is fully mature and should be drunk soon, but should have a few more good years. 90

January 16, 2023 - Better than last bottle (review Feb 2022). No metallic or out of place flavors. Great change up wine. Lighter body but full of mature and fully developed flavors.

February 10, 2022 - Darker body with some bricking. Nose is powerful, has cherry, toffee, floral note like. Palate is lighter weight, has bramble, more cherry, coffee, rose petal. Aftertaste has fruit but also a bitter metallic note. Somewhat like a tootsie pop. Give this time to breathe and settle down. A lot going on but overall a good mature Syrah with time left.

June 26, 2017 - Tasted double blind in "Interesting Reds" tasting. Cullen's bottle. I saw the top of the label so I didn't try to guess as I saw it was a French style wine made in Australia.

Medium red color. On nose, bright fruit, saline, floral, blackberry & black olives (other tasters got Eucalyptus but I did not). On palate, similar flavor profile with medium+ acidity, medium body & long finish. I really enjoyed.

    I would buy this. 92+/-

April 15, 2017 - I decanted this wine, and it made a big difference. It tasted somewhat interesting, like a Cotes du Rhone at the initial pour. After 1.5 hours, both the nose and the flavors opened up significantly. Now it tastes more like a good Chateauneuf. Lots of black fruits, and vanilla. After another hour, this wine continued to improve. The mouth feel was very silky and smooth - definitely buying more of this!

January 8, 2017 - The rating reflects the disappointment in this wine. The seller promoted the wine based on an obviously inflated point assessment. Buy with caution that this is not a 90 pointer.
