July 31, 2018 - Effusive nose upon opening, even at cellar temp. Notes of black and red fruit, smoke, pepper, spice, vanilla, bacon, and a hint of mint that only emerged after a couple of hours of air. The texture is silky smooth, soft tannins, just slightly hollow on the mid-palate for me.

April 18, 2016 - Drinking well now. Basically popped and poured, which I worried would do disservice to the bottle. But, this wine is ready to go. Dark in glass, relatively mild nose, totally harmonious glass - tannins are mellow, fruits (both light and dark) are present but not overpowering, spices and a bit of ash/smoke provide interest. Really plush.
