September 2, 2020 - Deep garnet color. Cassis nose. Medium-full body. Flavors of black currant, blackberry, , tobacco, and licorice. Mid-level tannins balanced by nicely restrained fruit. The wine is in its drinking window. This is really a very classic tasting left bank Bordeaux. like many of the 2007s, this is not a prodigious wine, but it just hits so many of the notes that Bordeaux offers, and its ready to drink at 13 years old rather having to wait 20+ years as with the great vintages. Has at least another 5 years ahead of it. Decant for sediment.

April 13, 2020 - Garnet colour, with some sediment in the bottle. On the nose red fruits with tones of cedar and spices. On the palate medium bodied, soft texture and very smooth tannins, drinking beautifully. On the finish the fruit fades away and becomes a little thin. Probably a bit past it’s peak, but still very enjoyable.

March 22, 2020 - Delicious. Fresh red fruits, a little menthol, tannins well resolved, quite long in the mouth. Better than I expected from some of the reviews here. In a good place to drink these now, but no rush

January 26, 2020 - i like this wine, probably just pass the peak but it has everything you want but not more, strewberry rusty jam aroma mixed with blueberry and some red fruits, medium body with a bit of acidic long plummy finishing.

(Château Branaire-Ducru (St Julien)) A dark, blackberry crumble kind of nose, a mix of dark fruits, fairly ripe in terms of hue, with a buttery layer perhaps from the oak. Sweet and bright blackberries on the edge of ripeness here, I think this shows through rather well. A polished and elegant beginning on the palate, building a little to a midpalate which has a supple texture, moderate weight, and fairly bright acidity. In the finish it shows grip, structure and freshness. This seems to combine ripeness of fruit, bringing a light but crunchy sweetness, with a very convincing structure. I find that overall it is at least commendable. It should give some good pleasure given time.

(Chateau Branaire-Ducru St Julien) An aroma of old, polished oak here, with slightly macerated fruit. Firm, reserved, old-school style on the palate too. Firm, dry, rather dusty, with a lot of structure and tannin here. A little hard in truth, extracted, but there are certainly good points.

(Chateau Branaire-Ducru St Julien) This has some very sweet fruit on the nose, with a bright bramble and blackberry character, painted with a little oak. On the palate it has a very cool style which is stony, but ripe and clean. It is attractive, but shows leanness through the midpalate and reveals a firm structure here. A quite nicely styled wine, with some potential.
