December 26, 2019 - Drinking nicely right now. Smooth tannins, ripe black cherry and raspberry. Takes a good decant to really open and sing. Plenty of cedar and vanilla spice. Can't see this getting much better. Ripe in style but a short finish.

April 19, 2018 - Not nearly as good as the first bottle. There was a funny medicinal taste that interfered with the great flavors and depth that one expects from a Bevan wine.

July 18, 2016 - We like Bevan wines a lot and that is influencing what I write. This is the first cab. based wine from Bevan we tasted at home in a few years. It was worth the wait. Delicious, fruit filled, and balanced come to mind. Superb mouth-feel and excellent finish do too.

April 22, 2016 - S&E Wine Club - Battle of the AVAs: Howell Mountain vs Stags Leap District (S&E): Ninth wine and doesn't fit into the theme but nonetheless the first from Oakville. Dark ruby red with a purplish hue. Complex nose with light white and purple floral notes which airs out and develops into vegetal notes and bell peppers. Moderate plus tannins (7.5/10) and moderate plus body. Solid earthiness and bell peppers on the palate that added in some dark fruit qualities. Long and lingering finish pretty smooth. Drink till 2025.

April 22, 2016 - Very fruity - the fruitiest of the night and definitely in your face Napa fruit - cassis in the nose with a hint of red fruits too.

Dark fruit and acidity in the finish.

    September 18, 2015 - S&E Wine Society - New World Reds 95+ Rating (S&E): Blind Tasting MOT=91.25
Color: Wine was deep redish purple
Nose: Clear signs of new oak; tobacco, earthy and little cassis
Palate: Wine slid slowly down your tongue, thick, solid tannins, and even a hint of dark chocolate but not bitter.
Opinion: Can taste alcohol overall solid wine, would be interesting with more air, I believe this was decanted for 2.5 hours, thanks John
Reveal: honestly did not picture this as a cabernet, very earthy, not my favorite of the night but was the majority of everyone else's. Maybe we should ask opinions before reveal next time.

April 18, 2014 - Really lovely tonight. This is drinking very well with a few hours of air. Great fruit and a very luxurious texture.

April 27, 2013 - 28th California Futures Tasting (Mandarin Oriental DC): Cab and merlot. I definitely prefer the Bevan merlot and cab franc. Not value for money for me. This is lighter too.

January 25, 2013 - 50% cab, 50% cab franc. Black fruit profile, little green, very grippy tannins, chewy, rich, tightly wound and needs much more time. 92-94
