November 2, 2022 - NobleRottersSydney - Malbec (Argentina) (Fix, St James, Sydney): {screwcap, 12.5%} [Aaron] Developing but soapy/detergent nose, with kerosene overlaying lemon curd. Palate tastes as you’d expect from the nose, fairly broad in texture, medium weight at least, and fully dry. Medium length finish. Fully developed – at peak – for me. Acid seems rather reticent; I’d be getting into these soon.
December 1, 2021 - Lovely evolved Riesling. Smooth but still good acidity. Colour still quite youthful. Flavour balances flowers, stone fruits, honey and citrus. In great condition.
November 20, 2020 - Super good. Still young on the nose, lemons, flowers, some mandarin. The palate has some development. Good acidity, great length. A decade left at least. Great wine
January 21, 2018 - Nice balanced Riesling starting to show some signs of maturity (more on the nose than through the palate). Nice lime. Good length.
December 21, 2013 - Bright straw colour. Beautiful fresh and crisp Riesling fruit nose. Big flavour with a full mellow mouthfeel with citrus acidity on the lingering finish. A good example of the Clare style.
October 2, 2013 - Young riesling for sure, but so tasty. White flowers and lemon nose reveal a palate of lime and lemon, with a delicious touch of honey.
June 15, 2013 - Drank this for a birthday celebration at Yan Palace Restaurant.
Nose of clean, crisp freshness. On the palate the searing acid was overwhelming. Although this was somewhat a refreshing drink, the high levels of sourness made the food we ate tasted bland.
Recommended to go with savoury food such as stews and meat loaves.
December 17, 2012 - The wine looks Straw colored. It smells like Lemon, Lime, Orange Blossom, Acacia, and Apple. It tastes like Lime, and Lemon. The body is Light. The wine has Linear texture. The wine finishes Medium length.
December 16, 2012 - Solid wine. Quite floral, doesn't have the mineral and citrus zip that I enjoy in young Clare Valley Rieslings.
