August 31, 2023 - Initially strong cedar nose, but needs 20-30mins to open up. This is a young pup. With air more Asian plum notes dominate with dark chocolate. Very strong but fine tannins give a spicy character - with clove dominant. Rich, expansive, long and luxurious in the mouth. This was a pristine bottle and it still needs 5yrs. 96pts now, potential for 98pts in 5yrs. Very decadent and very rich. Serious stuff

July 1, 2023 - Wild mint, perfectly ripe blackcurrant, tomato leaf, cola, faint silage, and old tarmac all present on the nose. Great complexity. Intense but with lightness of touch. The palette is so extraordinarily balanced. I essentially can’t pick any individual flavours out, it’s just beautiful. It reminds me of music where the parts all marry perfectly and you couldn’t separate the bass, melody, vocal, etc. Texture like cashmere. Spectacular.

June 30, 2023 - Stood up for two months. Ullage still in the neck. An absolutely pristine cork that looked like it went in yesterday. Decanted for two hours. A light purple core fading to a medium ruby outer edge. Deep and heady with an intensely pure expression of blackcurrant ably assisted by black shoe polish, eucalyptus, and a feint fermented component. A wine that caresses the palate with considerable concentration; demonstrating supreme balance and harmony. An outstanding showing.

May 26, 2023 - This flourished in its youth with a real decadence of flavours. It went through a slightly challenging period as the initial fruit bomb receded, but it has evolved into a serious top notch growth Bordeaux. It has similarities to the Cheval Blanc and Trotanoy with the Cabernet Franc lending a subtle touch to the mix. It has developed into a serious long-term wine which is going to be a classic legend for the next half century. It possesses a mature nose of red cherry, raspberry, strawberry with underlying bell pepper and floral notes. The palate is seamless with integrated tannin and wonderful depth and balance. As per previous note, a minor criticism would be residual harsher notes on the finish. That said, it is magnificent.

April 25, 2023 - Decanted 1 hour before drinking then consumed over 2 days.It drank beautifully over both days with no perceptible change.Quite concentrated and muscular with tannins mature and integrated. This wine is à point and will likely hold for a few years yet.
