March 22, 2023 - referring back to my previous note of 2019: "spicy red fruit and cedar on the nose; delicious blackberry black cherry and plum with black pepper spices". It's definitely mellowed somewhat in the last 4 years. I'm getting a less spicy, more integrated note on the fruit, but still drinking very well. I've got one more bottle and will be drinking it in the next year.

June 8, 2019 - ruby in color; spicy red fruit and cedar on the nose; delicious blackberry black cherry and plum with black pepper spices. Long aftertaste.

October 9, 2013 - Needs a brief bit of air to balance out. Black cherry, blueberry, cedar, mocha, vanilla, a little earth, and later some ink and poblano on the nose. Tangy black cherry, spice, earth, graphite, plum, green pepper, coffee, vanilla, and a touch of alcohol on the palate. Juicy acidity, grippy tannins, very good finish. Overall, I liked this wine, but I get no sense of place from it. In fact, I'm not sure that I could distinguish this from a good Aussie cab. It's good for its style, though I probably wouldn't buy this again.

August 17, 2013 - Very solid and quintessentially lower-mid end Columbia Valley juice, but overall somewhat unexceptional. Fairly tannic with ripe dark fruit; not entirely balanced/integrated. Showed a hint of raisin-y over-ripeness after being open for 2 days.

July 20, 2013 - Lots of sweet vanillin, blackberry and toasty oak on the nose. Almost leans jammy with a mouthfull of sweet tannins. Medium to full-bodied and maybe a touch short.
