March 13, 2024 - 3rd of 12, opened 90 minutes then splash decanted, perfect cork and level, little changed from last bottle in Feb 23, starting to unbend and show inherent class, upside, 10+ years. For now F+ (18).

February 5, 2023 - 2nd of 12, opened 2 hours, perfect cork and level, much nicer, more nuanced and showing more grenache than first bottle last May helping to bring flavours into better balance, youthful colour and drive to fruit, carries alcoholic heft well, upside, 10+ years. F+ (18)......beginning to show the quality I associate with Mordoree's CdP Reine des Bois.

January 30, 2023 - Chez Dalluge does Momofuko w/ Champagne, Whites, & Reine des Bois Vertical (Chez Dalluge, MN): Very dark red color. 7mm transition to clear. Drank a glass over 90 minutes. In a flight of '04, '05, and '06. The '04 was the clear winner here and probably took the nod over the '98 in the full vertical we did. Nice cherry notes, black cherry, savory, lots of leather and earth, garrigue, onion skin, medium full bodied, still a touch of hold on the tannins. The '05 is quite dense and ripe, dark fruit, blackberry, blackberry liqueur, full bodied, plum, heavily spiced, some grip here too. The '06 is also pretty darn big, ripe, creamy texture, rich and sappy, but sharper on the back end and a little tougher overall.

May 11, 2022 - 1st of 12, opened an hour, perfect cork and level - dark, dense glossy ruby, surprisingly youthful robe, leggy; sweaty saddle, plum, earth, garrigue, herby rather than spicey at this stage, complexity yet to develop; full, decent length and persistence, a concentrated wine with a sweetish core, not quite come together and lacking acidic lift, clear upside 10 years. At least F (17.5).......it'll be interesting to see whether grenache flavours start to emerge as they would help bring balance to this overwhelmingly and aggressive mourvedre profile, and not quite up to Mordoree's usual very high standard at this stage, eg 01 and 03!
