August 29, 2014 - The cork is crumbling and completely covered with black mould. It doesn't bode well... Once in the glass, there's a healthy glow to the deep gold colour, with rays of copper. Rich, heady bouquet of red apples, citrus tree, white truffle and toasted almond. Medium bodied on the palate, excellent acidity, still alive and kicking, mature apples and nutty truffle. Finishes tremendously well, complex, long, with faded fruits and flowers, minerals, nuts, honey, and white truffle. Incredible. And this is a humble Spatlese? Age, and perfect ageing conditions, perform miracles.

August 29, 2014 - Second bottle of the night, and this one ought to come with a Surgeon General's warning, really. The top is cracked, baring teeth of sharp edges of naked glass, and the cork is pitch black, soaked and saturated with black mould. Heavily oxidised colour, Amontillado-like, some cork granules to boot. Nutty, oxidised and tertiary bouquet, mushrooms and decaying green apples. Medium bodied on the palate, forceful, good acidity, boletus and hazelnuts, faint green apples. The finish is incredibly long, rich, nutty, white and black truffle, hazelnuts.

April 26, 2014 - Dark yellow, almost brown, as expected. Probably past its peak, but still enjoyable. Faint raisins, wood, apple and honey on the nose; brie, some apricot and minerality on the palate. Lingering taste, with certain dessert wine qualities, but still has acidity left.

The cork was moulded, but it did not seem to have affected the wine.

May 19, 2013 - Doftar mycket mogna, bokna äpplen, torkad aprikos, honung, svamp, lätt kryddigt (pommerans) och metalliskt.
