January 24, 2021 - Starts out a bit shrill and thin, but unfurls a bit over 3 hours. Charming crunchy red fruit, pretty florals, subtle menthol, savory roast duck and a whisper of five-spice. Still on the dilute and tart side to call it well balanced, but the purity of fruit and delicious secondary notes still make it a winner.

May 13, 2013 - Initially closed but with air, opens up a bit with red berries and a lot of minerality and really nice acids. Palate follows with silky but earthy texture. Not sure if it went carbonic maceration. Fruit opens up more on day 2 and gains just a hair of weight. Still very light on its feet, though.

February 13, 2013 - Light and exuberant, with almost-too-sweet fruit and strong acidity. A decent guzzler, but it lacks the harmony and cool of most French gamay I've had.

February 12, 2013 - Bright fruit on the nose -- maraschino cherry, plum -- along with subtle cinnamon spice. Nice acid on the palate and some cheeky sassafras on the finish.

December 7, 2012 - Translucent red color. Really does have a "bone-jolly" aroma but it's hard to describe - maybe a sweet-smelling, floral and fruity nose. The mouthfeel is light weight; the attack, sweet fruit. For me, the wine starts to go downhill at the mid-palate, where a sharp bitterness picks up and continues into the finish. The wine's acidity also seems unbalanced to my palate. But for $19.99, worth it just for the nose (and back label)!
