July 23, 2020 - Appearance: Deep ruby with legs and petillance.

On nose : med+ intensity, red fruit : red cherry, plum skin, dark fruit : dry black date; After half an hour, it turns to Floral: violet, a hint of French vanilla oak, balsamic, tobacco, cloves, a very complex aroma.

On palate : dry, med+ acidity, red and dark fruit, sweet black date can be found on front palate, sweet tobacco, med alcohol(13% abv), med body on mid palate, with med+ body and very fine tannin and med+ finishing.

A very special Sicilian wine. The grape,Nero d’Avola which is the King of Sicilian red grape varieties. This is the first time that I taste. The character is quite similar to Sangiovese. Full of Italian style with great acidity and balsamic aroma! Cheers!

February 7, 2020 - Limited nose with some anise, almost no fruit, bitter dark cherry, heavy tannins, really needs food, medium bodied, little chalk on the finish. Good wine, but needs the right food pairing. Sausage heavy pizza or well spice grilled things.

April 21, 2019 - dense, fruity, still lots of strong tannins. Would probably be still better in 3-5 years.
Good compliment to my Easter lamb.

August 1, 2018 - The only bad thing about this bottle is that it was the last one of the 2008 vintage.

Drank it togther with grilled meat (spare ribs and brisket) on a summer night in the garden with good friends. What a blend of real setting with the picture on the label.

Opened the bottle good two hours before serving so that the wine could gain a bit of oxygen. Broad taste, red and black berries, spices.
    Tannins were just perfect.

The wine was great and did not show any sign of age.

May 24, 2017 - Wines of Sicily (Jeff K.'s): This was the groups WOTN (not mine) and it is very good. Mostly Nero D'avola. Purple in color. The nose has spice, dark cherries, black raspberries and bit of eucalyptus. On the palate, there are a lot of boysenberries. Turns a bit tart on the finish. This is a big fruity wine which some had issues with. For most though, it stood out. Also the most expensive wine at $80.
