  July 2, 2023 - An unusually attractive white wine in the glass, it’s a pretty straw yellow with the slightest tinge of electic green casting it apart from most any other white wine you’ll come across. The huge body is evident before tasting by the unctuous legs it shows up and down the glass with a swirl.
  
  Still fairly tightly bound, this Gruner took some time to open up, and shows best in the 50-55F range. Tropical fruits are taking on a stewed character, papaya and mamey especially, and with time, dried orange blossoms and honey. There’s a distinctive presence of field herbs and very lightly toasted hazelnuts in the background.
  
  The palate shows a rich creamy honeyed texture, oily even, not surprising at 14% alcohol a very ripe harvest. More tropical fruits and the acidity is completely enveloped by the hefty texture, mamey again comes to mind for the creamy texture and orange fruit character. At once a mouthful and supremely refreshing. The finish disappointed at first, but just wait and it opens up and shows great presence. An amazing expression of gruner veltliner unlike any I’ve had.
  
  To taste you’d almost not even know there’s alcohol in there it’s just so plush, the same with the acidity. In spite of its huge body it’s so delicate I’d recommend this one with mild cheeses, simple poultry presentations, or milder fish like sole. I enjoyed it immensely on its own.

  April 4, 2021 - Herbal on the nose, pepper, concentrated yellow fruit. Generous and smooth on the palate, the alcohol is showing a little. A wee bit heavy. Fine length. 90-92

  September 17, 2013 - Had a bunch of grainy...cereal-type notes on the nose in addition to the typical honeydew, and pepper notes. The palate had some waxy lemon notes, with some pepper and salt on the finish. Not overly exciting and far too pricey.

  April 1, 2013 - The nose was clean with steely notes of green apple, minerals, undergrowth and a hints of tropical fruit. On the palate, it was rich yet unbelievably pure and balanced with ripe, white fruits and spicy inner floral tones, which lasted beautifully through the mineral laden finish. Stunning.
