August 18, 2018 - Probably the most enjoyable Barolo / Barbaresco I've had from the 2007 vintage.
A bouquet of dried and fresh flowers, a veritable perfumed garden on the nose. Orange bitters / campari / chinotto. Fine, open weave of tannin. A bit wild and unpolished, which I happen to really like. Oak lurking in the background, not sure of the format here but it's not obtrusive. Really good place right now, though no rush. -

December 31, 2012 - Had alongside a 2007 Piero Benevelli Barolo Monforte. This was the preferred wine for all of us.
Ruby with slightly brown tinge. Fine, silky tannins add rather than detract from the experience. Marzipan, violets, fennel, star anise. A beautifully expressive, elegant wine that will only get better with age. Excellent length. The whole line through the palate spoke of skilful wine making.
Good value too. Will be getting more of this.
