April 23, 2019 - "Might be better in a year or so..." (in '13)...well, I might have intended to drink this sooner than this, but I'm a little surprised by this bottle's development. It's definitely on the downslope tonight. Oxidative notes of maple syrup and stewed fruits on nose and palate, along with darker fruits (black cherry, plum), licorice, black tea, orange peel, lemon, and some mineral and spice. Decent acid and finish, and with some complexity, but a bit tired.

July 17, 2014 - I think Trey's notes are spot on. Maybe I'm nuts, but this seemed to have a Pinot like quality to it, with a bit more of an earthy tone. Very delicious by itself and enough acidity to accent food. This was very good for the money.

December 27, 2013 - Not a stand out for this region and variety for me, but a nice wine nonetheless. Transparent ruby color. Aromas of cherry, smoke, dill, minerals, and a little rose petal. Medium body, medium-med+ acid, and shortish finish, with flavors of red fruit (cherry, raspberry, red apple skin), black tea, and a little orange peel. Enjoyable now, but there's a little firmness to the tannins that suggest to me that this might be better in another year or so.

June 6, 2013 - Classy and elegant with ripe and fresh red berries, exotic spices, smoke, minerals along and some herbs and licorice which leap from the glass. This brings a wonderful balance of fruit and acidity with a clean, focused finish that lingers.

March 13, 2013 - Delicious wine, hard to believe that the ABV is so high.
