August 2, 2023 - NobleRottersSydney - 2010 & prior (Fix, St James, Sydney): {screwcap, 13%} [Aaron] Oak and detergent. Nuts too, with a hint of age-driven tobacco. Watch for splinters on the palate; soapy and buttery with a strong malo presence, low in acid, light/medium in weight. Not a lot of flavour development for me; seems more riding on (classy) oak than anything else, and the structure is too soft to support further worthwhile cellaring.

September 10, 2022 - Fresh white flowers, honey, flinty, smoky notes.
Intense guava, custard, pineapple and again flinty finish. Superb length, now really hitting its straps. A real bargain, just took 10 years of cellaring for it to reach this level of development and complexity. Another 5-10 should be no problem.

December 7, 2020 - A fair amount of French oak thrown at this one, although manages to sit on the right side of the ledger on both the nose and palate. Driving acids, luxurious white nectarine fruit, a core of apricot pits, elegant and midbodied. Travelling well at 10 years (Stelvin), likely to be at peak although will comfortably hold for another couple of years.

November 26, 2018 - From magnum, this is still powerful and full of life. While the 09 is mature and three 11 is a notch down, this is great, with smokey pineapple, a silky texture and some spice on the nose. It’s not as good as the Block 6 from a year ago, but you can see the resemblance. Yum.

May 5, 2018 - This wine seems to get better and better which is a bit of a shame as this was my last bottle. There was a tightness limiting any sweet sensations, there was a tautness and even a hint of minerality. Dare I say it, yes it was Burgundian
