August 14, 2023 - Opens with an intense core of cool, concentrated fruit, kirsch like, but in no way brunt, just cool. This is a sort of apocryphal neuf, so vertical, almost Bordeaux-like in style, yet, I find the local feel intact here, if no signs of the warm vintage. Drinking a point, but not declining.

August 27, 2022 - Terrific. Decanted at 6:00; still going strong at 10:00pm. Well integrated at this point with definite further room for improvement. Dense red fruit, barnyard and tobacco on the nose and a full, vibrant palate with a long finish. Great wine, very much alive, and very well enjoyed this evening.

June 13, 2021 - Slowly arriving, gaining local feel. Mourvèdre speaks with barnyard galore, Grenache backs it up. Grand Vin IMHO.

May 19, 2021 - Despite professional notes of nearing “old”, we found the wine to be fresh and plenty of tannins indicating more life in this wine. Opened/decanted for an hour, probably could have used 2+. There were strong notes of tobacco, tar, leather and deep fruit on the nose. On the palate, the wine showed tobacco, black raspberry, and perhaps a bit of menthol. Long finish.

March 28, 2020 - Tasted agianst the 2001 and completely smashed it!!! The 2000 is a much more integrated and harmonius wine that shows a melange of scents as well as tastes. Violets, red berries, herbes, mint, kirch, Black berries, sweet plums, leather, barnyard and sweet Tobacco are eksiltibetanere found in the nose as well on the palate. Only drawback is a slight unbalance in the aftertaste which shows top much acidity, but hey we are talking about a hairsplit From perfection! What the ....went wrong with 2001??

January 31, 2020 - I am loving this gorgeous Chateauneuf du Pape! Still dark in color, the wine is rich, concentrated and delivers layer after layer of silky, opulently textured, ripe, luscious black cherries, spice box, black pepper and herbs. There is a tiny hint of spicy, dark chocolate in the endnote Blind, you would never guess this was 20 years old.

August 17, 2019 - Needed 30 minutes to open. Lovely red and black fruits, mushrooms, spice, some Cedar, silky smooth. The fruit was somewhat subtle but also very ripe. Complete elegance in a bottle.

August 8, 2019 - Decanted for about 30 minutes. This wine is in a cracking place at the moment.

Full-bodied, just entering its secondary phase, with red fruits, pepper and provencal garrigue. Very long, silky smooth finish of more than 30 seconds.
