February 27, 2022 - Wine-Ark lunch (McLeay Street Bistro, Potts Point): Leather, earth, red and blackcurrant, dusty, meaty, bloody, bit of cellar stink, roasted red capsicum with time. Acid is sharp, alcohol warmth, drying grippy tannins, leathery and earthy with red and blackcurrant as well as that roasted capsicum. The acidity lends sourness which I find a bit off-putting.

September 14, 2018 - Coravin fun - Ready to drink (Kennards, Waterloo): From Coravin. Fill level mid shoulder and there has been some serious cork bleed in the past. Additionally the cork is a little loose to the touch. I approach with caution. On the nose, though, there is plenty of ripe blackcurrant and sweet spice initially with a fair like of oak, some chalky earth notes, leather and mushroom shows under this. On the palate the fruit is a little sour, the tannins a little wood and dried out, some dusty leather and old vanilla pod here. Mmm, rather interesting but drink up fairly pronto
