    August 12, 2018 - PopnPour, tasted over 2 hrs and day 2
    -nearly opaque med dark red
-low key rich ripe dark fruit slight creamy cola
-med acidity picks up to med+ at the finish, med weight concentrated black cherry dark fruits some stoniness, med tannins with decent length; more focused with concentrated dark red fruits on day 2, quite lovely
-this is leaning a bit to the modern end of the style spectrum but it is solid, maybe the best Ilan wine I've tasted thus far even if it is atypical for Chambolle, still tightly wound and probably won't reach full potential for several more years as is typical for 2012s

September 29, 2017 - We are all familiar with the ilan stories of late, but that's why we can find these at half off. This was pretty damn good. Bright red fruited with hay and other very wild forest flavors. It was a little funky and lacking that approachable feminine pretty chambolle quality, but man was this doing it's own thing and not apologizing. I was prepared to not like this but I was pleasantly surprised.
