May 24, 2022 - A private tasting at a friend's (Bussum): Looking back at past tasting notes for this wine, there were some serious cork issues apparently. This bottle was fine however. Very natural in style, pure and direct, clearly whole bunch, minimal intervention, bright and fresh, youthful structure but evolved, noticeable carbon dioxide, very mild tannins, not my style of Burgundy, but the quality is there. Even though I think that producing wines in Burgundy in a way which largely eliminates terroir expression is wasteful.
March 6, 2022 - Corked was soaked halfway through. Wine was ok but no real acid to speak of. It last for two days with no change. Drinkable but not worth the hassle and stress it took to get it.
February 15, 2021 - Given the prior comments from others, I will note that the cork in this bottle was partially, but not fully, compromised
On the nose, blackberry, raspberry, sous bois; round, but a little wild; some spices, weighty presence, with good long finish; fairly classic Morey and a pleasure to drink
From 30 Minutes Onward: Fruit on the nose is beginning to disintegrate, with occasionally mushroom emerging and some notes of acidity; on palate not as firm of a structure as before but still lively and pleasing
With an intact bottle I would say that this is in a good drinking window; it is not clear whether it will continue to develop well or fall apart but given the concerns about the cork it seems that the latter may be likely
November 8, 2020 - Unfortunately I have one bottle remaining and another assorted case of Maison Ilan - I've yet to open a drinkable bottle - even the bottles that are not flawed are flat and lifeless - beyond disappointing - feel foolish buying into hype on release - open-empty-flush-repeat.
November 7, 2020 - My final bottle and deservedly so. It had another compromised closure with an 80% saturated cork, which is surprising given the size and cosmetics of it, but no doubt that it contributes to the variability and accelerated decline of these wines. The color is rusty garnet with a good amount of sediment floating in the wine. The nose has taken on more mushroom earthiness and lost some florals that translates equally on the palate. There is still good acid/tannin/mineral structure, but the bouquet is on the fade. At this point it’s an $80 wine to match with $8 pizza.
The CT drinking window goes out to 2030 on this, but I don’t think that factors in the cork issues so I say get after it now.

April 20, 2020 - Opened and decanted for an hour. The cork was soaked through to the top. These were purchased on release and kept in my active cellar. Bad shipping or bad storage before shipping.
It was actually Somewhat good the first night The second night it had gone down hill a bit and then an hour later it was rancid. I bought these as birthyear wines for my niece and nephew, but they will not last that long.
March 14, 2020 - A year and a half since my last taste of this. Notes after two hours open. Again, the cork was quite saturated and there is some seepage in the capsule. The color is as brown as it is ruby but it appears clear and sound.
The nose is prettier than before with a full bouquet of roses, blackberries, sweet spices, and no intrusion of oak or reduction. Palate tastes a bit tired though, as the depth of fruit doesn’t live up to the tease of the aromas, or even the heat of the alcohol.
Fortunately, things took a turn for the better around the 4 hr mark and the wine really found its pitch. I think a good decant is warranted. Of course, with the consistently compromised closures, who knows where this is going. 4+12+16+8= 90
January 31, 2019 - Capsule and cork showed signs of mild seepage. On PnP, the wine was very shut down, other than pretty astringent acidity. Recorked, put in the fridge, revisited on night 2: starting to open and show signs of dark cherry and cola on the palate. Vacu-vinned, put back in the fridge, and forgot about it for a couple of more days. On night five, it was drinking nicely, with a decent nose of fruit and fairly balanced on the palate. Not sure that it was worth it, but it performed better than expected, given others' notes. Paired nicely with homemade ratatouille.
October 31, 2018 - Strange and unbalanced wine. Hot and spicy nose, finishes rather bitter. Avoid.
September 24, 2018 - Saturated cork and corrosion on the capsule - it looked like it was 40 years old.
Light ruby color with a nice glimmer to it and some tiny specks of particulate that should be decanted and strained. The wine itself is fine and sound but drinking like it’s fully mature, I’m sure in no small part due to the closure issue. I guess I was lucky because the bouquet and palate were really quite nice, though it should probably deliver a bit more breadth for this pedigree and certainly for the price. 3+11+17+8= 89
