Community Tasting Notes 9

December 9, 2014 - Slightly grapey, cherry, with a nice spice aspect; dry tannins, silky, lively; red and black fruits, good grippy tannins, somewhat bright, especially after the Remeage, which was more fresh compost, blackerry, licorice and pepper, and softer mouth.

July 28, 2014 - HWZ Southern Rhone tasting (Asia Grand Restaurant, Odeon Tower): Red #2 tasted blind. Clear medium+ ruby hue. Good fragrant nose with primary fruit, toasty vanilla oak and hints of violet.
Medium bodied and fruity palate, exhibits blackberries, violets and some meatiness. Spicy finish, medium length and the tannins is soft. This is also quite easy drinking with less structure.
Afterthought: Another CDR that is showing well in this tasting. Can be a value buy if the price is right at what it should be.

November 22, 2013 - The 3 winemakers behind the Vins de Vienne label are names to look out for as they have a happy habit of delivering great wines at reasonable prices. This is no exception! A nice ruby colour in the glass with some red fruit on the nose. There is a nice balance between the initial acidity and smooth tannins making it fresh in the mouth. The finish is smooth with a hint of spice. Good value.
