December 25, 2023 - Don’t take my rating seriously as this is probably the 5th Petite Syrah I’ve had in my life. But this had good flavors and depth without major tannins, so good in my book. Still going strong as well.

September 5, 2023 - Good bottle, struck me as starting to show some tertiary notes. Could be more interesting in a couple years.

April 14, 2023 - Beautiful cuvee. Has aged well and is drinking impressively and memorably at about 57 to 60 degrees from the pop of the cork through hours later. Dark pronounced well balanced jammy flavors of fruit engulfed in gritty tastes of meat and tobacco. The taste is long lasting as well. One of Larry's better vintages for Rattlesnake petites. Or is it that the rattlesnakes have preserved those grapes well? Only regret is that Dominque's up the street from the White House in DC has been closed now for thirty or so years so can not BYOB this cuvee to enjoy with that restaurant's rattlesnake appetizers. I've got two bottles of this vintage left, one that I'll pop in the near future and the other in 2026 or so.

August 31, 2022 - I was very pleased with this wine. Inky purple, with dark fruit flavors and a little white pepper. Smooth, with the tannins having enough to make this easy drinking enough for being without food, but was even better when paired with some Italian foods.

April 9, 2022 - Youthful with dried cranberry and herb notes. Any time.

December 13, 2021 - Decant is a must - I did not and paid the price. Skunky upfront, but opened through the hours to a mature Bordeaux style. Again, decant first.

October 29, 2021 - Theme was blind, California red, no Cab. This has been well stored, I bought it from the mailing list, and my cellar is at 56. This was fabulous. No one thought it was older than a 2017. Dark purple color. Great nose, good balance, big fruit, nicely resolved tannins. Long finish. One really needs to wait on these Petite Syrahs, patience is handsomely rewarded.

August 12, 2021 - This seems like a 20 year wine if stored well. Still going strong and seemed to be mature, but definitely not on the back slope of its window.
